Happy Birthday to the Prince! (Evening)

Happy Birthday to our (officially) 4 year old! After naps, we went swimming, opened presents, and ate cake! DadOf3 is upstairs trying to help them have an unprecedented 3 kid sleepover in the Prince's new tent! I'll let you know how it goes!

Happy Birthday to the Prince! (Morning)

This morning we went outside to play! That is what the Prince wanted to do and because it is HIS day (and because it is not raining for the 2nd day in a row!!!) we got outside to play for a couple of hours!

DadOf3 gave Princess her first lesson in riding a bike without training wheels. She was scared but actually rode for a few feet without DadOf3's help. She is not at all comfortable with the idea of riding without her training wheels but it was a good start!

The Knight and the Prince wanted a turn on Princess's bike too!

Happy Birthday to the Prince! (Cake)

The kids and I worked on the Prince's cake this morning. OK, I actually did the decorating, but the kids put the Lightning McQueens and the Mators on the edge of the cake.

I baked it last night so it would be nice and cool when we started decorating it. Here is the final result! Not too bad for just using frosting and zip-lock bags! Ha!

(Basically I want to remember how to do this next year if I lose the little picture that came with the cake pan. It almost got thrown away today! Yikes!)

Chuck E. Cheese = Sensory Overload!

Happy almost birthday to the Prince! He will be 4 years old tomorrow! My, time does fly!

To celebrate with his friends, we were just going to go to the park as usual and bring cupcakes to share. After talking with MomOf2Boys at my Bible study, I decided that the chance of rain was too great. The kids have been begging to go to Chuck E. Cheese, so to Chuck E. Cheese we went!

If you have never been to Chuck E. Cheese, let me set the scene. There are lots of rides, lots of games, and lots of noise. There are lots of lights flashing, man-sized mice singing, and lots of kids racing around! It actually sounds an awful lot like a casino. That is a scary thought, to have a fun childhood memory of a pizza place brought back to you by walking into a casino as an adult. Yikes!

Anyway, the kids had fun! They played lots of games and then we had pizza and cupcakes.

DadOf3 even showed up at the very end! I didn't think he was going to be able to make it so it was a great surprise for the Prince! They were picking out their little prizes after cashing in their coupons when he arrived. Then DadOf3 took the Prince home in his truck and I took the Princess and the Knight home in Otis.
